Olde Ale

By: AleSmith Brewing

Product Description: Olde Ale was originally released as AleSmith's Decadence 2005 to rave reviews (Perfect 100 score on Rate Beer). Olde Ale then made another appearance as the 2010 Decadence release, this time rated 99 out of 100 on Rate Beer. So it's with good reason AleSmith has decided to bottle this rich, malty English Style Old Ale once again and to finally make it part of their permanent beer lineup. Olde Ale is one of AleSmith's most award winning beers including multiple Gold Medals. Whether you love the old ale style, or have never tried one before, AleSmith's example is simply beautiful and certainly deserves a spot in your cellar.

If you like collecting and/or aging beers, Olde Ale can mature for up to 20 years! Expect wonderful things to come from this very special brew.

What's on the bottle...

Originally brewed in 2005 as the first in our annual Decadence series AleSmith Old Ale follows the tradition of class British-style Old Ales. This rich, malt-forward ale showcases soft notes of currants and dried fruit along with complex dark sugars, all of which are balanced by a subtle bitterness derived from the addition of traditional English hops. AleSmith Old Ale is ready to be enjoyed now or it can be aged for upwards of twenty years to further enhance its amazing depth of flavor. A hearty ale designed to please Bacchus himself!

More from the brewer

In 2010 we return to the style that was chosen for the very first AleSmith Decadence, an English-style Old Ale. Abundant malty flavors and the perfect balance of English hops define this classic style. Four specialty yeast strains and the use of tradition brewing sugars create a rich and tasty flavor profile. AleSmith Decadence pleases and tantalizes the palate in a way that has become the hallmark of AleSmith's premium ales.

In 1995, a momentous happening occurred in San Diego: AleSmith was forged. In the ten years since then, we have had the pleasure of enjoying the fruits of our labor and we have been fortunate to develop a faithful following of friends. We are commemorating this decade with a very special brew: Decadence Anniversary Ale. We deeply appreciate your support and we hope you join us in our "Decadent" decennial celebration.

Warning: Beer of the month clubs and mass producers promise "craft" beer…deliver less-than-stellar drinking experience.

Sadly, it's true…
98% of breweries in America are now labeled as "craft beer" producers, a term that's quickly losing its meaning. But most are still hiding dull, lifeless beer behind clever names and fancy labels.
