Tasting Notes: Pours a golden amber with a finger of fizzy white head, which dissipates quickly and leaves excellent lacing. Aroma of tropical fruits with yeasty, spicy overtones and coriander. Initially tart flavor mellows after the first few sips, allowing pears, white grapes, and dry malt to come through. Heavy medium body and very gentle carbonation with a dry finish.

What's on the bottle...

A huge, complex Belgian-Style Ale spiced with coriander, Horny Devil is brewed with Belgian Candi Sugar and yeast from a Trappist monastery. The resulting aromas and flavors intrigue and delight the palate. It is AleSmith's most award-winning beer, earning judges' comments like "amazing," and "best beer I've ever had." Taste for yourself and you'll agree: AleSmith ales are "hand-forged to perfection."

More from the brewer

This is the AleSmith incarnation of a Belgian Strong Ale. Horny Devil is an authentic Belgian Style ale, from the Belgian candi sugar right down to the yeast, a Belgian strain from a Trappist monastery in Belgium. In addition to the malts, candi sugar and fresh hops, there is also a little added twist from coriander seeds, which impart a refreshing citrus flavor to an outstanding ale. Belgian ale lovers around the world have raved about Horny Devil, and you will too.

Warning: Beer of the month clubs and mass producers promise "craft" beer…deliver less-than-stellar drinking experience.

Sadly, it's true…
98% of breweries in America are now labeled as "craft beer" producers, a term that's quickly losing its meaning. But most are still hiding dull, lifeless beer behind clever names and fancy labels.

If you're tired of it, as I am, simply enter your email address in the form above and begin discovering the best tasting beers in the world. Beers you won't find in your supermarket or liquor store. I'll show you why…and how to reserve your own private supply.
