Tasting Notes: Pours a russet brown with a finger of creamy, khaki-colored head. Sweet vanilla bean aroma with plenty of caramel. Rich bourbon flavor up front, which mixes with the caramel for a well-balanced taste. These are surrounded by notes of toffee, honeyed multi-grain bread, dried fruits. Full-body mouthfeel with a nice sweet finish and lingering heat.

What's on the bottle...

This Barrel-Aged version of our Scotch-Style ale is matured in premium bourbon barrels for up to one year to add layers of complexity to its rich, malty flavor profile. Notes of vanilla, oak and bourbon from the barrels combine with the beer’s profile of caramel and toffee to make this an utterly unique beer that we think you’ll love. Enjoy it now or let it mature in the bottle for years to come.

More from the brewer

Wee Heavy’s complex malt profile lends itself very well to a host of roasted or grilled meat and vegetable dishes. Robust cheeses, salty blues and nutty farmhouse-style cheeses also pair very well with this beer.

Warning: Beer of the month clubs and mass producers promise "craft" beer…deliver less-than-stellar drinking experience.

Sadly, it's true…
98% of breweries in America are now labeled as "craft beer" producers, a term that's quickly losing its meaning. But most are still hiding dull, lifeless beer behind clever names and fancy labels.

If you're tired of it, as I am, simply enter your email address in the form above and begin discovering the best tasting beers in the world. Beers you won't find in your supermarket or liquor store. I'll show you why…and how to reserve your own private supply.
