What's on the bottle...

It's pretty awesome. A San Diego classic, AleSmith IPA showcases the versatility of American hops. Aromas of grapefruit and tangerine lead into an abundance of fresh pine and tropical fruit notes followed by a crisp, resinous bitterness. The complex hop profile is supported by a firm malt presence to create an incredibly flavorful and well-balanced IPA.

The beer's citrus and pine notes pair well with fresh, aromatic herbs, citrus-based dressings, and Asian-inspired flavors. IPA's refreshing bitterness and dry finish also help temper the heat of spicy foods and contrast the tanginess of farmhouse cheddars and spicy blues.

Serve in a pint at 45-50deg

Deep golden to light amber color, and a nice off-white head, with good retention when properly served. Starts off with pleasantly strong hop flavors, balanced by a firm malt backdrop, then fades to a dry finish with a lingering hoppiness.

Medium straw color, pale tan head. Rich malty aroma with a HUGE dose of hops. Medium-full body with sweet malty flavors and a delicious abundance of aromatic a bittering hops.

Storage: As with most IPA's, keep this beer cold and drink as fresh as possible.

Awards: Multi-award winner, including Silver at the California State Fair and the World Beer Championships, and People's Choice two consecutive years at The San Diego Real Ale Festival. Great American Beer Festival 2005 Bronze medal winner.

Serving Tips: Serve in a pint at 45 to 50 degrees.
