Tasting Notes: A hazy orange-gold color with a finger of bubbly white head. Green apple, brandy and spicy oak on the nose with lemon zest and a nice sweet overture. Slightly sour flavor, but oaky and sweet. Cherry and wine grape add to the complexity. Medium body, soft texture with a bit of alcohol warmth to it.

More from the brewer

EL CUATRO is made of barley and caramel malts co-mingling with lactobacillus and brettanomyces. After brewing and conditioning, the beer is transferred into brandy barrels to age for up to a year during an extended Brettanomyces Lambicus fermentation.

Prior to bottling, the beer is blended with a small portion of year-old SAHALIE. The only hops added to this beer arrive from the aged SAHALIE. The brandy barrels and wild yeast fermentation give EL CUATRO a plum & cherry fruitiness balanced by the slight toast of the malt body.

Warning: Beer of the month clubs and mass producers promise "craft" beer…deliver less-than-stellar drinking experience.

Sadly, it's true…
98% of breweries in America are now labeled as "craft beer" producers, a term that's quickly losing its meaning. But most are still hiding dull, lifeless beer behind clever names and fancy labels.

If you're tired of it, as I am, simply enter your email address in the form above and begin discovering the best tasting beers in the world. Beers you won't find in your supermarket or liquor store. I'll show you why…and how to reserve your own private supply.
